FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. (August 19, 2026) - Upcoming ramp restrictions are planned as part of the Improve 64 project. The work is necessary to strengthen the shoulder to accommodate future traffic shifts.Drivers should anticipate the following weekend ramp closure, weather permitting:
The ramp from westbound I-64 to westbound U.S. 150 will be closed from August 21 at 9 p.m. through August 24 at 6 a.m.
To detour the closure, follow I-64 westbound to Exit 118. Turn left onto S.R. 62 West, go under I-64 and then turn left onto I-64 eastbound. Follow I-64 eastbound to Exit 119 to reach U.S. 150 westbound.

Improve 64 is part of INDOT’s strategy to reduce congestion and improve safety and mobility along I-64 in Floyd County, enhancing the overall travel experience along the corridor. The project includes added travel lanes and interchange improvements to enhance the corridor’s operational efficiency. Bridge and culvert replacement and rehabilitation, as well as noise barrier, new guardrail, and concrete barrier wall installation on portions of I-64, I-265, and U.S. 150 are also part of the project.
